Session of Oregon Legislature:

    SB 1536:    Opppose Provision on Elections


Dear Committee:

The Oregon Progressive Party opposes SB 1536's provision on elections, which provides that directors of certain mass transit districts be appointed by Governor instead of elected.


Mass transit district directors should be elected by the voters they serve and should be directly responsible to those voters, not to pleasing the Governor or members of the Oregon Legislature.
